News and Projects that the Trust Has Funded
Lady Hawkins Pupils Embrace Athletics
Pupils at Lady Hawkins have been trying out a variety of the different sports involved in the field of athletics following the purchase of a range of new equipment.
Lady Hawkins School applied to the Kingspan Insulation Community Trust for funding and received just over £930, which was used to purchase some up to date equipment for the pupils to use both in lessons and as part of their extra-curricular activities.
Allen Brace, Head of PE at the school commented “As the Gymnastics Club at the School has been fortunate enough to receive funding from the Kingspan Insulation Community Trust in the past we decided to put forward another application this time with the hope of extending our athletics provision.”
“This included the addition of indoor athletic equipment and also some primary school equipment to be used by our Sports Leaders (Year 10 pupils) to deliver athletic sessions to our feeder primary schools.”
John Garbutt, chairman of the Trust said “We were delighted to be able to help Lady Hawkins School once again, and it is great to see they are continuously looking at the existing activities enjoyed by the pupils and finding ways of extending this interest, whilst at the same time encouraging participation and exercise.”
He added “The fact that this is not the first time we have been able to help Lady Hawkins School just goes to show there is no limit to how many applications can be put forward. So with the 30 September deadline approaching now is the time to submit your request.”
