News and Projects that the Trust Has Funded
Road Safety At Play
Children at Kingsland pre-school have been learning all about road safety in a fun and practical way thanks to funding from the Kingspan Insulation Community Trust which has enabled the group to purchase a variety of outdoor equipment.
Kingsland pre-school currently looks after 24 children aged between two and five and operates four days a week from Kingsland village hall. It is run as a charity and the organisers are constantly busy finding new ways of fundraising to cover everyday costs and rely on donations for equipment.
Juliet Pudge of Kingsland pre-school commented “We feel that the topic of road safety is very important to the children, and although we work closely with Kingsland Primary School and can borrow their road safety equipment, this has to be pre-arranged and sometimes means it can only be used once a term, so we decided to apply for funding from the Community Trust to purchase our own equipment.”
“Having had our application approved we have been able to purchase a variety of road safety equipment for the pre-school, which has benefited the children enormously and enables us to educate them regularly about the dangers on the road. This activity has also helped develop their fine motor skills and co-ordination and gross motor skills for physical co-ordination.”
John Garbutt, Chairman of the Kingspan Insulation Community Trust said “Road Safety is extremely important, and all of us at the Trust are delighted that we have been able to help Kingsland pre-school educate the children in such a fun and practical way on a topic that will stay with them forever.”
