News and Projects that the Trust Has Funded
Wigmore Teams Look The Part
Members of the Wigmore High Football and Basketball teams certainly look the part following the purchase of new team strips.
The Kingspan Insulation Community Trust awarded Wigmore School with a grant of £1,750 to purchase new strips for both the senior and junior football teams as well as the senior basketball team.
James Sparey, PE Teacher at Wigmore School said “We applied to the trust for funding as we wanted to promote interest and participation rates within extra-curricular basketball and football. It is hoped that these new strips will encourage pupils to want to play after school and improve the feeling of pride the students have in representing the school’s sports teams.”
He added “Both the students and staff at Wigmore would also like to thank the Trust for its generous ongoing support for the PE department.”
John Garbutt chairman of the Trust commented “We are delighted that once again we have been able to help Wigmore School, and the fact that this is not the first grant they have received shows there is many ways in which young people can be encouraged to improve their health and fitness through recreation”.
