The school Football team and Futsal team which usually comprises of a mixture of years 4, 5 and 6 pupils have received 11 jackets and a kit of 12 strips including a goalie strip following an application made to the Kingspan Insulation Community Trust.
Sarah Turner, PE Coordinator at Luston Primary School commented “We have noticed an obvious boost in the self-esteem and morale of the football team following receipt of the new kit. The children look extremely smart and it has provided them with a renewed sense of pride when competing against other schools. All our pupils are desperate to earn a place in the team and represent their school and having a new strip to wear has definitely increased this desire to be chosen!”
“We decided to apply to the Trust because it is a local company which everyone is aware of, we were desperately in need of a new kit and we had heard of other schools that had been successful with applications.”
John Garbutt, Chairman of the Kingspan Insulation Community Trust said “It is great to hear about such a boost in morale on the team over at Luston and we are delighted to have been able to help. It is extremely exciting to hear that the desire to be picked for the school team has increased as encouraging healthy recreation is a key aim for the Trust.”
The football team finished off last season just missing out on the semi-finals of a county tournament in the final minutes of the match during penalties. They are very much looking forward to the season ahead.
