News and Projects that the Trust Has Funded
Tenbury Girl’s Clash Sticks
Pupils at Tenbury High School have been benefiting from the use of the Astroturf pitch at Leominster following funding received from the Kingspan Insulation Community Trust.
The Kingspan Insulation Community Trust provided Tenbury High School with £440 enabling the girls hockey team to run regular practice sessions on the Astroturf pitch which in turn allowed them the opportunity to work effectively as a team and in a full side situation.
Adrian Taylor, Head of PE at Tenbury said “We are always keen to promote sports to our pupils and thanks to the kind generosity of the Kingspan Insulation Community Trust our hockey players are able to use a proper pitch regularly both for practices and matches. They are thoroughly enjoying it and their skills are increasing week by week.
“The sessions were run as an after school activity for 1 hour per week between September and February. There were 12 regular players from Tenbury and to enable more players to participate Lady Hawkins School joined with our girls and provided a qualified coach to lead the sessions.”
John Garbutt Chairman of the Trust said “We were delighted to be able to help Tenbury by provided funding for the hockey team to practice regularly and the fact that they joined up with Lady Hawkins School is an excellent example of collaborative work between the schools to help promote healthy recreation.”
